I recently ordered reed diffuser oils from each company. Both companies had advertised pretty low prices & I wanted to sample the quality. On average, reed diffusers oils cost about $2.17 per ounce. CandleBay.com advertised theirs for $2.99 (2 oz.) & OilRefills.com advertised their oils for $5.99. (4 oz.)
I ordered both on the same day & got OilRefills.com first. Impressive as they were farther away from me than CandleBay was. It was packed well & the invoice had a hand written “Thank You !” that I thought was a nice personal touch. Their website is nothing to look at, but was designed to be simple, as their front page states. It was easy to navigate. The oil itself was packaged in a clear Boston round PET plastic bottle with an aluminum lined screw lid. The label was simple-nothing fancy. Immediately after I opened it, the scent wafted out. It was a nice & strong scent called Vanilla Supreme & was a buttery rich vanilla true to it’s name. After 3 months, it still smells of vanilla when I enter the room. (A little less than half a bottle still left !)Overall, I was impressed with OilRefills.com.
Candle Bay’s order took longer. It came four days later than Oil Refills. It was packed nicely. They have a more “professional” looking website that is easy to navigate although I did notice that they referred to the reeds as “bamboo” instead of “rattan” which is false, but they have since changed that. The oil itself was in a small glass bottle with a nice label. The set included reeds & came packaged in an organza bag. Here’s where the problems arose. The bottle was stopped with a rubber cork. It was pretty far in there. I e-mailed the company & was told to use pliers. I did & it spilled onto my desk when it broke free. The oil itself smelled nice & could be smelled immediately on getting that rubber cork out. I had this oil for 1 1/2 months & it was gone. Even though it was a smaller size than Oil Refills, I thought it should have lasted longer. But honestly, for $2.99 it was a bargain.
